Access Democracy

mission

our mission

Access Democracy improves how elections are run to ensure all eligible Americans can vote. The problems voters face when they go to vote -- like long lines and broken voting machines -- block access to the ballot for millions of Americans, especially communities of color. But these problems are solvable

Access Democracy focuses on the challenges Americans face when they go to vote. We pinpoint a county or city's specific election administration problems, and identify solutions that fit that community's needs and its budget. We work with local officials who want to improve how they're running elections -- and shine a spotlight on those who don't.

How elections are run blocks millions from voting:

State Programs

In our three pilot states of Wisconsin, Florida, and Pennsylvania, we're identifying -- and solving -- local election administration problems that stand between voters and the ballot. To read more about our pilot programs, visit our state programs page.
